Are you someone who likes to participate in running events? If your answer is a resounding yes, then chances are that you’re an athletic person and follow an active lifestyle. And in that case, you will certainly be interested in the upcoming Zayed Charity Marathon that’s happening in Abu Dhabi on November 25. Here’s all about the upcoming charity run from which the proceeds will go to Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre.

Zayed Charity Marathon Returns To Abu Dhabi This November

Abu Dhabi is going to the Zayed Charity Marathon on Reem Island this November. Yes, scheduled to take place on November 25, Saturday, this is an annual race which was first launched in 2001. A race that pays tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed Sultan Bin Al Nahyan, it will be taking place across three categories. Yes, you can choose to participate in the running route of 3 km, 5 km or 10 km, these are perfect for people who wish to run for a cause.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Hamdan bin Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who is the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra region. This charity run also has a few annual editions that are held across the world. Yes, it happens in locations, such as New York and Egypt as well!

What About The Category Of The Races?

However, in case you’re wondering about the event, there are three categories of this race that you can sign up for. These are as follows –

  • 3 Km Route – The participating fee is AED57.75 and it’s valid for people from the age of 0 to 99 years for both males and females.
  • 5 Km Route – With a fee of AED57.75, people from ages 12 to 99 years, both males and females can participate in this.
  • 10 Km Route – With a fee of AED57.75, people from ages 15 to 99, both male and female can participate.

There are other categories as well, which include Paracycling 10 Km, Handbike, 10 Km, Wheelchair 10 Km, and People of Determination (Special Olympics) 3 Km. Signing up for all of these is absolutely free!

In case you’re wondering about what is in store for you, except for some good time, you will receive a certificate, photo service or download, medal, refreshments, and of course a T-shirt.

Until When Is The Registration Open?

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that the registrations are already open on the website and you can register now if you want to. Additionally, the registration will close on November 23 at 11:59 PM. As it happens, cancellations and category changes will be accepted up to November 18 at 11:59 PM. However, all of these might have an earlier deadline if the spots sell out.

While the event begins at 7 AM, the cut-off time for the event is 9 AM, so you might want to keep this in mind while registering.
