There is a lot of development that’s taking place in Kalba, making it the next tourist hotspot in the UAE. And a part of these development projects happens to be a moon-shaped project called Above The Clouds. Offering panoramic views of the valleys, mountains, and the coast, here’s all you need to know about the upcoming retreat that is going to be situated on the mountain.

Above The Clouds Is A Moon-Shaped Project In Kalba

Recently, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, who is the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, visited the retreat. The Above The Clouds project is situated on the Al Deem mountain, which is located in Kalba City. So, this retreat is going to be situated at an altitude of 850 m above sea level and will cover a total area of 4700 m². Comprising two floors, the first floor will feature a restaurant, open cafe, and reading area while the ground floor will be a multipurpose hall. There will also be a prayer room, restrooms, multiple viewing platforms, a theatre, green areas, and a children’s playground located on the ground floor.

The Retreat Will Offer Panoramic View Of The City

In a report by Sharjah Media, it was mentioned that the unique location will offer visitors a panoramic view of the city’s coastline and the surrounding mountain area. Not to mention, during his visit, the ruler reviewed roadwork plans that would serve the new projects. This includes two roads, which will total 10 km and two bridges. In case you’re wondering, one of these roads will connect the Wadi Al Helo Tunnel to the new Sharjah-Kalba Road. And the other one will lead to mountain peaks and development projects. This road features three lanes for vehicles with high safety standards that facilitate bus and heavy vehicle access.

Besides this, His Highness was also briefed about the design of the international stadium project, which would be according to FIFA standards. And this would be serving the Kalba sports and cultural club that would be on approximately 50,000 m² of land on Mount Daym. It would be situated 650 m above sea level and will boast terrace seating, Kalba City view, VIP platforms, media rooms, health facilities, and commercial services.

In fact, the proposed designs of another hotel had also been discussed, which would be located adjacent to the Above The Cloud retreat. It would feature 100 rooms and overlook the Kalba coastline.
