Celebrating Gujarati food, this rooftop restaurant in Ahmedabad is known for its Indo-Baroque heritage mansion.
What Is It?
Agashiye is a typical unlimited thali concept restaurant, where there is no menu as such but the servers are doting and hands on when it comes to filling up your belly. The moment they see you’re out of something, they rush to refill it!
You can dine under the stars, sitting on cane Muddas and eating from a Kansa thali, a bronze thali, giving you a maharaja dining experience. Also you can dine indoors with a group of friends and family, sitting on charpayi! Its emerald green and wooden interiors is enough to make you feel like you’ve entered a heritage space.
Here you can expect to savour iconic Guajarati dishes like fada, to Khaata Dhokla, Bepadi roti, Methi na gota, Vatana Batata na samosa and dudhi na muthiya, varied over different courses. However, the menu changes every day, giving customers a taste of authentic Gujarati cuisine.
Agashiye in Gujarati means ‘On the terrace’ and this stunning restaurant is located in a mansion from the 1920s. It occupies two huge terraces, one big and the other, small. The smaller terrace also houses a wooden cottage.
