Patna-New Delhi To Get A Bullet Train; To Reduce Travel Time To Just 3 Hours

Get ready for a travel revolution! Indian Railways is revving up to introduce a bullet train service on the Delhi-Howrah route, slashing travel time between Patna and New Delhi to a mere 3 hours. This marks a significant reduction from the current journey times, which can take upwards of 17 hours by regular train.

Patna-New Delhi To Get A Bullet Train

The proposed bullet train will be an extension of the Delhi-Mumbai high-speed rail project, currently under development. This new route, spanning over 1,050 kilometres, is expected to zip through the heart of India, connecting major cities like Buxar, Patna, and Gaya.

While the exact route and station locations are still being finalised, Patna is expected to have its own bullet train station, potentially built in either Bihta or Phulwari Sharif. The entire railway line will be elevated, keeping the tracks at a height roughly equivalent to a two-storey building. This elevated design will not only minimise land acquisition but also ensure smoother travel experiences.
