A private helicopter on its way to pick up political leader Sushma Andhare crashed on landing in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. The incident happened this morning and the helicopter seemed to swerve, wobble, and lose balance before crashing. The two pilots on board were safe but got injured during this mishap.

Helicopter Crashes In Maharashtra; Pilot Injured

A private helicopter was on its way to pick up Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sushma Andhare this morning. The political leader was addressing a public rally in Raigad. Unfortunately, the helicopter tilted and crashed upon landing. This incident happened at 9:30 AM this morning. While there has been no casualty, both the pilots on the chopper have been injured. They had succeeded in jumping off the chopper before it crashed on the ground.

According to reports, the pilots were trying to land the helicopter on a makeshift helipad at Mahad. While landing, however, the helicopter tilted. This caused the chopper to wobble and lose control before crashing. As per the witnesses, there was a loud noise and a cloud of dust surrounded the helicopter for a few seconds upon the crash on the open ground.

Incident Due To Uneven Landing Ground: Preliminary Report

The Police and a rescue team rushed to the spot and were able to successfully save the two pilots and provide them with medical assistance. They also launched a probe into the entire incident. According to the preliminary report, the rotor blades of the chopper were damaged in the incident. It has also been observed by experts that one of the reasons for the incident could be the uneven landing ground of the makeshift helipad.
