In a tragic series of events, four forest officials lost their lives in a forest fire on Thursday, June 13. The fire was blazing inside the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary in the Almora region of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Authorities have announced ₹10 lakh as compensation to the families of the officials who lost their lives. Four Forest Officials Burnt Alive At Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary

According to an article which was recently published by Republic, this particular tragic incident took place around 3 PM yesterday. The four people who lost their lives were identified. Karan Aryan, who was only 21 years old, Dewan Ram, who was 35 years old, Puran Mehta, who was 52 years old and Trilok Mehta who was 56 years old.

If reports are to go by, they were there going there to douse the fire. However, their vehicle caught on fire and ended up claiming the lives of all four of its occupants. In addition to these four deaths, there were a few other officers who were also seriously injured.

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has announced monetary compensation for the families of people affected. He also immediately ordered an airlift for the injured officials to the hospital.
