If you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with home-delivered chocolate-y brownies or a rose milkshake, then you’re one amongst many other Indians with similar tastes, reveals Zomato’s recent report. The food delivery aggregator shared stats to show how India celebrated Valentine’s week 2025. Needless to say, there were lots of sweet celebrations involving rose and chocolate-themed desserts and drinks amongst others.

As India celebrates Valentine’s Day, Zomato’s latest report shows a not-so-surprising surge in demand for cakes, desserts and more. On Rose Day (February 7) rose-themed dishes soared by twofold. Looks like rose-flavoured drinks were a hit amongst Indian romantics as they saw an increase in demand by 70%.

Chocolates were another favourite amongst Valentine’s Day regalers. Around 1,25,000 chocolate-based dishes were ordered on Chocolate Day( February 10). Zomato’s restaurant partners and brands introduced special Valentine’s Day offerings on the apps like heart-shaped treats and secret message cakes which were also in demand. Heart-shaped doughnuts, cookies, pizzas and more were ordered by Indians to surprise their special ones.

Curated Valentine’s Day gift hampers and categories like Asian cuisine and pizza also witnessed an increased demand this week. For more immersive experiences, the app is also offering at-home date night options for those wanting to celebrate the day of love in the comfort of their home. There’s DIY culinary kits where couples can spend quality time preparing sushi, ramen, taco and whipping up cocktails together in the kitchen. Curated cheeseboards make the wine and dine celebration complete. Chocolate fondue box, boxes with an assortment of dippable treats add a spark of playfulness to those cosy nights.

Last Year, Jar Cake Emerged As Most Popular Dessert On Zomato

Adding to the success of its Valentine’s Day offerings last year, Zomato revealed that in 2024, categories like cakes and desserts increased by three to four times as compared to an ordinary day. Chocolate and velvet cakes emerged as the most popular ones. Gift hampers rose by twelvefold in comparison to an ordinary day. The fastest-growing categories last year were bento cakes, jar cakes and dessert boxes with a combination of chocolates and strawberries.
