When the Mumbai Metro was introduced in the city, it came as a relief for commuters. They now have an option to skip the heavily crowded local trains and enjoy an AC ride. Many commuters have also purchased passes so they don’t have to buy tickets every time. Now, the good news is that MMRC has increased the validity of some trip passes and reduced the prices of select passes. Read on to learn more!

Mumbai Metro Increases Validity Of Pass

Under the new update, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has mentioned that 45-trip and 60-trip passes will now be valid for 45 days instead of just 30 days. That means you now have an extra 15 days to complete the trips included in the pass.

As per Navbharat report, this new change is only applicable to Mumbai Metro 3, also known as the Aqua Line. It is a 33.5-kilometre underground corridor that runs between Aarey and Cuffe Parade. If you’re someone who travels regularly but not every day, you now have extra days to complete the trips.

What Are New One-Day And Three-Day Pass Rates?

Not only has Mumbai Metro increased the pass validity, but it has also decreased the rates of passes. According to Navbharat report the one-day pass that used to cost ₹280 will now be available for just ₹210. Moreover, the price of the three-day pass has been reduced from ₹700 to ₹600. These lower fares will give you a chance to enjoy multiple rides at affordable rates.

Metro 3 has become an important part of Mumbai’s public transport network. Around 1.75 lakh passengers rely on this line to travel every day. To make travel easier for commuters, MMRC has already introduced facilities such as monthly trip passes and digital tickets. We’re excited to see how these new changes will make travel easier for commuters.
