The funeral of Queen Elizabeth ll, which took place yesterday, was one of the highest attended events in the history of the UK. Queen Elizabeth ll had come to the throne on February 6, 1952, and ruled for seven decades and 214 days, till she left for her eternal abode on September 8, 2022.

Eminent personalities from all across the globe, including presidents, government heads and celebrities attended the funeral. Indian President Droupadi Murmu, UK Prime Minister Liz Truss, US President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, among other world leaders, were present at the queen’s funeral ceremony.

Celebrities like Bear Grylls, Sandra Oh and  Sophie Winkleman also attended the event.

1. Prince William Shares Picture Of Queen’s Procession

His Royal Highness Prince William shared that 5.1 billion people from all across the globe watched the Queen’s funeral.

2. King Charles III Thanks Citizens For Their Support

King Charles III, the present monarch of the UK, thanked everyone who extended their support to The Royal Family after the Queen’s demise. In one of the pictures, His Majesty The King receives a sketch from one of the citizens with teary eyes.

3. The Wreath Of The Queen’s Coffin

The wreath of the Queen was crafted with foliage of Rosemary, English Oak and Myrtle. The Myrtle leaves were taken from a plant grown from the Myrtle used in Queen Elizabeth ll’s wedding bouquet.

4. The Queen’s Coffin Was Carried On The State Gun Carriage

The Queen’s coffin was carried to Westminster Abbey on the State Gun Carriage.

5. The Armed Forces Paid Respects

The Armed Forces paid respects to the Queen, their former Commander-In-Chief.

The Royal Family paid the last respects to the Queen at Windsor Castle. The Archbishop of Canterbury delivered the Sermon to Her Majesty.

At the conclusion of the Committal Service, His Majesty The King put the Queen’s Company Colour of the Grenadier Guards on the coffin.

The piper of Her Majesty played the lament.

The Royal Family shared a throwback picture of the Queen from her younger days and stated that she would be laid to rest with her late husband Prince Philip, alongside her father King George VI, mother Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and sister Princess Margaret.

In a monochrome picture, The Royal Family bid a final goodbye to the Queen, calling her “a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother.”
