150 Homestays On Char Dham Yatra Route To Get Entrepreneurship Training By EaseMyTrip, SIDBI & Uttarakhand Tourism

EaseMyTrip, the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), and the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board have come together to launch a homestay entrepreneurship training programme in the state. This programme aims to equip 150 homestay owners along the Char Dham Yatra route with hospitality and eco-friendly practices. Read on to learn more about this initiative.

Seeing the increasing number of homestays along the Char Dham Yatra route, EaseMyTrip along with SIDBI and Uttarakhand Tourism Department, decided to launch a homestay entrepreneurship training programme in the region. This training programme was started in April. As per reports, it will go on throughout May. They will help enhance the skills of 150 homestay owners along the Char Dham route under this programme.

According to reports, they have designed a meticulous curriculum with classroom learning with practical sessions. EaseMyTrip, SIDBI, and the Uttarakhand Tourism Department will give the homestay owners a joint certificate once the training finishes.

They have successfully conducted training in Joshimath, Guptkashi, and Ukhimath. The next few sessions will be held in the Gangotri and Yamunotri part of the Char Dham route. So far, they have awarded certificates to 31 homestay owners in Joshimath, 25 homestay owners in Guptkashi, and 39 homestay owners in Ukhimath.

How Will This Training Help Homestays Along The Char Dham Route?

Under this entrepreneurship training programme, homestay owners in the Char Dham route will be provided training on essential hospitality and eco-friendly practices. As per reports, this will include training about hygiene, environmental safety and waste management, guest safety and security, housekeeping management, customer support, booking management, and technology training and support.

Talking about the initiative with The Hindu, Nishant Pitti, Co-founder & CEO of EaseMyTrip, said, “By enhancing the quality of services provided by homestay owners, we not only improve the travel experience but also contribute to the local economy. Post-certification, these homestays will be integrated into our platform.”
