Another day, another flight delay! This time, an Air India flight with over 165 Dubai-bound passengers had to bear the brunt of flight issues that left them stranded at Mangalore airport for close to 12 hours.
Air India’s 12-Hour Delay Leaves Passengers Stuck At Mangalore Airport
Due to a technical snag, a Dubai-bound Air India Express flight experienced a 12-hour delay, resulting in 165 passengers being stranded at the Mangalore airport. The unforeseen circumstances left the passengers without a means to reach their destination as planned. This caused inconvenience and disruption to all 165 passengers’ travel schedules.
Air India Express’ Official Statement regarding the matter is as stated below:
“We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to our guests due to the delay of the Mangaluru-Dubai flight on 10th July. Due to a progressive technical snag, the flight was delayed by over 12 hours and took off at 12.10 hrs today. To facilitate the journey, an alternative aircraft was arranged, which was ferried from Thiruvananthapuram. Despite offering alternative options like a connecting flight on the Mangaluru-Trivandrum-Dubai route or hotel accommodation, guests opted to wait for the arrival of the ferry flight. Airline staff ensured that guests were provided refreshments at regular intervals. We sincerely appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our guests during this situation.”
The Air India Express flight was scheduled to depart from Mangalore international airport on July 10 at 11.15 pm. However, due to the delay, an alternative ferry flight had been organised. This alternative flight was set to take off from Thiruvananthapuram at approximately 11.40 am on July 11. The arrangement aims to provide a solution for stranded passengers, ensuring safe transportation to their destinations.

Dubai Bound Flight Gets Delayed For Over 12 Hours
This is not the first time Air India has been in the news for a delay leading its passengers into a frenzy. Passengers of the Mangalore-bound Air India Express flight IX 814 encountered a distressing situation in May of this year as well. This flight was originally scheduled to depart from Dubai at 2.25 am but experienced a significant delay of over 10 hours. The airline officials attributed the inordinate delay to technical issues.
This unexpected disruption caused considerable inconvenience and frustration for the passengers, who had to endure a prolonged wait before their flight could take off. Flights like these cause high inconvenience to passengers who spend thousands of rupees to reach their destination. On top of the delay, the passengers also have to rush to figure out the boarding and more. Often, the airlines fail to deliver support and leave the passengers to figure it out themselves.
