January 26 is just around the corner, and this year India will be celebrating its 74th Republic Day. The Republic Day 2023 parade will include the attendance of common people officially. Instead of VVIPs (very very important person/persons), the first row to watch the parade will be reserved for Central Vista workers, vegetable vendors, and the like.
1st Row For Republic Day 2023 Parade
The theme for this year’s Republic Day is ‘Participation of the Common People.” During the parade, Shramjeevis (workers who contributed to the construction of the Central Vista), their families, Kartavya Path maintenance workers, and other community members like rickshaw pullers, tiny grocery store owners, and vegetable vendors will be seated in the 1st row of the main dais. The Republic Day 2023 Parade, which will include these special invitees, will honour the true spirit of a Republic nation.
The central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been making special efforts for the past few years, to increase the representation of the common man in government programs. Invitations were extended to sanitation workers, construction workers, frontline workers, and auto-rickshaw drivers to attend the national grand event of the Republic Day parade in 2022.

Rajpath Now Renamed Kartavya Path
All the Republic Day events will follow the theme for 2023. The Chief Guest at the celebration this year will be Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the President of Egypt. A marching contingent with 120 members from Egypt will also be a part of this parade. There are now only 45,000 open seats for the parade. 32,000 of them, as well as 10% of the total seats reserved for the Beating Retreat event, are up for sale online.
At the Red Fort, there will be events sponsored by the Ministries of Tribal Affairs and Defense, as well as displays of the cuisine and art of several states during Bharat Parv. There will be 18 helicopters, 8 transporters, and 23 jets in the flypast. During the inauguration of the renovated Central Vista Avenue in September 2022, the previously named Rajpath was renamed Kartavya Path and the Republic Day 2023 parade will be the first after its renovation.
