Guruvayur Temple In Kerala Has Extremely Long Queues For Darshan, Says Devotee

Recently, @nach1keta took to X (formerly Twitter) to raise their grievance about the time it takes to have darshan at Guruvayur Temple in Kerala. Sharing a picture of the ticket counter, the Netizen narrated his story and called the temple inaccessible to devotees.

In the caption, the devotee stated that he waited with his family for 4 hours in the queue and later decided to pay ₹1000 per head and enter the temple. @nach1keta stated that only cash was accepted at the temple. And without payment to the authorities, devotees could end up waiting for 6 to 8 hours. He further stated that this crowd could be managed but the “corrupt system” won’t allow.

He further added that he waited with his family for 4 hours in the free queue, but it didn’t move an inch. But the paid queue to the temple was moving at a decent pace. He alleged that the general public were ignored and the system only worked in favour of those who paid to enter the temple quickly.

Netizens Share Their Experiences

His post about entry to the Guruvayur Temple led to many Netizens sharing their experiences in the comments section. @pv_mk stated “The Udayasthamama pooja of Monday, Wednesday and Friday chokes the system. Nothing can be done about it as its a money spinner and long waiting lists over years. The darshan is intermittent these three days.”

@22layam said “Clearly temple management (most officials/staff members) is apathetic. For them, this is just another job & are not bothered about devotee concerns. Surely, things can be better managed with humane approach & devotee convenience as focus. But sadly, we r in commie control…”
