When we go to a restaurant for a meal, we are entrusting the folks running the establishment with the safety of our food. We trust them to follow all the necessary protocols for offering a delicious yet safely prepared meal. However, there are some restaurants that tend to ignore all the safety guidelines that have been put in place by the government. As a result, food safety authorities often tend to crack down on these places for violating carefully placed regulations. Something similar happened in Abu Dhabi, wherein a restaurant was shut down by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority. Here is all about this crackdown.
A Vegetarian Restaurant Closed For Food Safety Violations

In a report published by Khaleej Times, it was mentioned that the Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority has shut down Evergreen Vegetarian Restaurant – Branch 3 in Abu Dhabi. This happened after it was found that several food safety violations had been committed at the establishment. Yes, according to the report, insects around the sink, utensils, storage, and preparation area were found during a previous inspection. Not to mention, there was inefficient cooling in the refrigerator, and there was a failure to maintain the right temperature for foods that were ready to eat.

Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority Had Repeatedly Warned The Restaurant
As it happens, the restaurant had repeatedly been warned to correct these high-risk situations for improving food safety. However, the report mentioned that these corrective measures had not been taken, which resulted in the authorities issuing a closure of the restaurant. It must be noted that this closure will remain in place until corrective measures have been taken by the restaurant, to meet all the important health and safety requirements put in place by the emirate law. At this point, it’s worth noting that Adafsa regularly conducts such inspections at restaurants across the emirate to ensure these establishments follow food safety requirements.
This is not the only instance when a restaurant has been shut down. In another incident, Hollowmeat Restaurant in Al Ain had also been closed down for similar violations.
