Abu Dhabi Police Detects Traffic Crimes Using Artificial Intelligence

On Saturday, Abu Dhabi Police announced the creation of a ‘Safe City Section’ that would deploy artificial intelligence (AI) technology to improve traffic safety in the emirate. Authorities in Abu Dhabi have disclosed that the deployment of AI-based technologies has improved road safety. The list includes analysing collision data, strengthening road infrastructure and accident response times, and identifying traffic violations.

Safety Section Sends Alerts To Users

As part of Arab Traffic Week, which runs from May 4 to 10, Abu Dhabi Police has emphasised the usage of AI. The Safe City Section is an information and communication technology (ICT) centre that processes massive amounts of data. It aids authorities in collecting and controlling traffic-related concerns such as accidents and crime. The division analyses and projects existing and real-time data, which might help prevent accidents, according to Abu Dhabi Police.

The portion is connected to the National Early Warning System. It sends out messages to drivers on the road about dangers. The warning includes notifications related to bad weather and terrible road conditions. They also notify you of the possibility of accidents before and after they happen.

Automated Penalties From Abu Dhabi Police

Abu Dhabi authorities can impose fines for not leaving a safe spacing between automobiles. They can easily track heavy vehicles that breach their licences and motion schedules without the need for human involvement thanks to AI.

The technology may also help formulate predictions of how traffic would likely build up in a certain region in the event of an accident or road repairs. The technology also aids in the analysis and improvement of driving style.
