Thailand is on the travel bucket list of most Indian travellers, especially youngsters. Like India’s Goa, many young friend groups dream of going on a splendid holiday to explore the beauty of Thailand. Well, it looks like visiting this tropical country is about to get a bit easier as there will soon be no need to present a visa to travel there. Indians can soon enter the destination without any visa requirement from November 10, 2023.

Thailand To Let Indians Visit The Country Without A Visa For The Next 6 Months

Thailand Tourism stated that Indian travellers can travel to Thailand visa-free starting from November 10, 2023. This rule of travelling without a visa is going to be in action till May 10, 2024, according to a report by The Times of India. Visitors from India can enjoy a stay for a maximum of 30 days while visiting without a visa. This is a significant step taken by Thailand to attract more international travellers. Well, not just for India, the country announced the decision to waive the visa requirements for residents of Taiwan too.

The temporary scraping off the visa requirement for Indian and Taiwanese travellers is coming into action during the peak holiday season. Both the festive tourism season and winter vacation time are falling into the timeline of Thai Tourism’s decision to let these tourists travel without a visa.

Government Is Taking Major Steps To Boost Tourism In The Country

Ahead of the holiday season, the Thailand Government is announcing some big decisions with an aim to positively impact the tourism industry of the country and attract more visitors from different places of the world. The decision to allow Indian and Taiwanese tourists without a visa was announced on October 31 by a government official. The promotion of the country’s tourism and increase in tourist footfall play an organic and crucial role in enhancing and improving the economy.

Before this announcement, Thailand waived visa requirements for visitors from China back in September. Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, Chinese travellers were the most number of visitors to the tropical destination.

A total of about 22 million travellers visited Thailand from January 1, 2023, to October 29, 2023, according to the data shared by the government. It also stated that this tourism business made revenue of 927.5 billion baht (₹21,48,73,32,88,030), according to a report by MoneyControl.
