People are now adding chocolates to their everyday grocery carts, whether for a quick snack or a post-meal craving. World Chocolate Day: How Indians Are Enjoying Chocolate Like Never Before
Among the growing number of chocolate options, many people are still choosing classic milk chocolate. In fact, 4 out of every 10 chocolates ordered on Instamart are milk chocolates. Chocolate-coated wafer bars account for 2 out of every 10 chocolate orders. Other favourite flavours include fruit and nut, caramel, and hazelnut.
One of the biggest trends of the year was the viral Dubai chocolate. Orders for the pistachio-filled chocolate jumped by a massive 11,739%. People are not just buying regular chocolates anymore. Many are choosing premium chocolates and chocolates with added benefits. Around 1 out of every 5 chocolates ordered belongs to this category, and Mumbai shoppers are leading this trend.

Which Cities Are Ordering The Most Chocolates?
Bengaluru seems to have a serious love for chocolate, ordering nearly twice as much as the average metro city. When it comes to true chocolate fans, a shopper from Kochi topped the list with 277 chocolate orders in a year, while another from Mysore placed 205 orders. And if that wasn’t enough, one chocolate lover from Ahmedabad spent more than ₹1.59 lakh on chocolates in just one year.
More people are now looking for healthier chocolate options. Orders for sugar-free chocolates increased by 85%, while dark chocolate became nearly 50% more popular compared to last year. Protein chocolates also saw strong growth.
Every city seems to have its own favourite type of chocolate. Bengaluru loves milk chocolate the most, while Hyderabad prefers caramel chocolates. Mumbai shoppers are buying the highest number of premium chocolates. People in Kochi and Kolkata are also showing a growing interest in hazelnut and white chocolates. Premium chocolates are becoming popular beyond big cities too, with places like Surat, Vadodara, Mysore, Rajkot, Ranchi, Varanasi and others.
Also, chocolate orders saw a big jump on Valentine’s Day. On February 14, orders increased by 74%.
