All You Need To Know About The UAE Pass

The UAE is constantly in the endeavor to move towards becoming a smarter, safer, and happier country. In line with the same, the country has now introduced a unique paperless system known as the UAE PASS, which will be the only digital identity for all residents. The new pass will replace all other official identifications and will be enough to access any government services.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new techno-savvy UAE PASS.

What’s It?

In early 2020, Smart Dubai had introduced an initiative called ‘the Digital Future’. This was part of the ‘Government Development Track’, a 100-day plan to boost smart transformation within the UAE governments. The Digital Future has also launched six other plans, and the smart initiative was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. The UAE PASS is part of this plan and aims to transform the country into a smarter and safer one. The Strategic Affairs Council has already adopted this plan in the emirate of Dubai as of May 1st.

Why Is It Being Done

  • The UAE PASS will allow for effective development across the UAE governments.
  • It will better the communication between federal and local entities
  • Better and easier access to government services for all residents and citizens
  • No more wastage of paper
  • Remote sign-ins for all
  • Convenience for all

How Does It Work?

The UAE pass simply offers a unique ID for every individual. This can be accessed through smartphones, and even consists of a digital signing feature. With one username and password, residents can access over 5,000 government services! There will be no need for any paper identities as everything will be stored on your system which can be accessed via your pass. When you need to get official work done and have to submit documents in, you can do that remotely from your home. The digital signing feature will allow you to sign official documents and authorize services from wherever you are. You can even get a business license in just 15 minutes! All of these efforts help support Smart Dubai’s endeavors to establish Dubai as world’s safest, smartest, and happiest city.
