Another Paragliding Accident In Himachal Takes Life Of Tourist And Instructor

Paragliding over the mountains is a highly thrilling experience. However, over the past few years, many accidents at the paragliding sites in Himachal are raising concerns about the safety of the activity. Recently, a tourist from Haryana named Aditya and a pilot lost their lives in a paragliding accident in Himachal’s Kullu district. The incident occurred near Dobhi village. The pilot had lost control mid-air due to extreme weather conditions and they fell to the ground. They were taken to the hospital without delay. The tourist was declared dead at the hospital. Soon after, the pilot passed away. The Himachal Pradesh tourism department will be investigating the incident. The Kullu police force is also carrying out a probe.

A Paragliding Accident Had Taken Place In March Claiming Life Of Two People

In March, two people also lost their lives at Bir Billing due to a paragliding accident. Bir Billing is the most popular site in Himachal Pradesh for paragliding. After the accident, the Kangra administration had also banned paragliding at the site. The activity resumed in April with new guidelines from the tourism department.

Not only did accidents take place during paragliding, but a child had also lost his life in an accident when an overloaded jeep fell into a gorge at the paragliding site which led his parents to file a petition for adventure safety. It has been one of the petitions with the highest number of signatures on Change.org.
