Keeping up with the trend, there is a new exhibition that’s headed to Riyadh and warrant your attention. We are talking about the Art of the Kingdom: Poetic Illuminations, which will be making its way to the JAX District.

Art of the Kingdom: Poetic Illuminations is headed to the JAX District in Riyadh this February. Happening at the Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art, it will be taking place from February 24 to April 24. It’s worth mentioning that this exhibition is the first travelling group exhibition that comprises Saudi contemporary artists. In fact, prominent works by 17 Saudi artists will be showcasing their works. Yes, this will be from different generations, artistic practices, and even regions.
So if you happen to be an art enthusiast, you will be pleased to know that the exhibition will include everything from paintings to installations and even video works. Shining a light on the history, collective memory, and cultural traditions of the kingdom, this event is being organised by the Museum Commission.

As it happens, Art Of The Kingdom was previously displayed at the historic Paço Imperial in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This happened in November 2024 and attracted 26,000 visitors, which is pretty fantastic.
Coming to the renowned high profile artist who will be featured at the show, include names like Lina Gazzaz, Ayman Zedani, Moath Alofi, Ahmed Mater, Ahaad Alamoudi, Manal AlDowayan, and Shadia Alem. As it happens, the new edition will also feature newly commissioned site-specific works, which makes the version in Riyadh even more unique.
With an exhibition that showcases the diversity and vision of contemporary Saudi artists, this show is worth checking out.
