Ashneer Grover, who was known for being one of the Sharks on Shark Tank India, a famous entrepreneurial reality television show, landed in hot waters in May. An investigation was launched against him that alleged that unexplained payments were made by BharatPe. Owing to this ongoing investigation, he was disallowed from boarding an international plane. When Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain Grover left their house on November 16 to go to the Indira Gandhi International Airport or the IGIA, they didn’t know that they would be returning on the same day. They had booked a flight to New York but when they reached the airport, they weren’t allowed to board the flight.
This is because the security officials stated that there was a lookout circular or LOC issued against him by the Economic Offences Wing or EOW of Delhi. Initially, Grover laughed it off because since the investigation began against him in May, he had left the country several times and returned as well. So understandably, he found it a bit odd that he would be disallowed from leaving the country this time.
In quite a lengthy post on X (formerly known as Twitter), he explained what actually happened. In the clarificatory message, he also stated that he hadn’t known about the LOC until he was informed of it at the airport. He went on to say that he hadn’t received any communication regarding the same. It wasn’t until the morning of November 17, seven hours after returning from the airport.

Towards the end of the message, he took several digs at people who are voyeuristically observing the difficult time he is navigating through. He said that there was no drama and that there was a way to remove LOCs and he would opt for that He even humorously started the message by asking “Kya chal raha hai? Filhaal to Ashneer stopped at the airport chal raha hai.”
He even ended the message by saying many people have made the mistake of writing obituaries prematurely but his “death” should only be considered final after the 13th day since his funeral pyre was burnt.
Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain are facing charges like criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and forgery according to an article recently published by NDTV. It is alleged that BharatPe made unexplained payments to HR firms.
