The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by the Indian Government has been gearing up for a while. In support of it, residents of a small village in Assam have put in efforts to make it a success by keeping the village clean. Moreover, won’t a clean environment lead to the happiness of its residents? So, on the occasion of World Happiness Day, the MLA of Khumtai village Mrinal Saikia tweeted about its cleanliness.

The Member Of the Legislative Assembly Mrinal Saikia tweets about the clean movement carried out in Khumtai — a village in Assam. And the residents are enthusiastic about the cleanliness and are undertaking maximum efforts in order to maintain it. The MLA further tweeted that the inspiration behind this amazing initiative is none other than the Honourable Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sharma. And, the villagers find peace and happiness in doing this work. So, they are celebrating World Happiness Day by showcasing the good deeds done by the villages. Moreover, it is a known fact that living in a clean environment helps boost your mood and makes you happy!

Indian villages are blessed with natural resources and are a treasure that needs to be protected. The villages are pollution free with innumerable trees planted and immense levels of oxygen that can help people with a good life. And if they have clean surroundings, then nothing like our Indian villages to live an optimistic life!

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is an initiative launched by the Indian government in order to make cities, towns and villages waste-free, open defecation-free and promote cleanliness. The mission focuses on sanitisation, construction of toilets, waste management and living a sustainable lifestyle.

Under this initiative, every town, city and village in the country geared up to clean the place and implement a proper waste management system. It was a nationwide initiative that every Indian was excited about. And taking inspiration from this, Khumtai and its residents had taken responsibility and are continuing the work.
