The fear of COVID-19 sending us into lockdown is looming over our heads. Moreover, travellers and tourists visiting different countries are at risk of being stranded in an unknown place. The recent advisory given to the citizens of Australia is to exercise high caution if they are travelling to India. Here is what the alert said and how it can affect travel plans.

In the wake of COVID-19 and the Indian government conducting random RT-PCR tests, the Australian government has issued an advisory to people visiting India. According to it, travellers should exercise caution and follow local news for any updates on COVID-19 rules. Further, it said though the Air Suvidha self-declaration is not required, the rules for entry and travel can change at the last moment. Also, the local services like trains and buses are operating according to the regular protocols. The situation can change at any moment. So, to avoid this, check with the nearest Indian embassy or your tour operator.

Indian Government’s Rule For International Passengers

As per the rules, vaccination is mandatory for travellers coming to India. Further, the new guidelines suggest that a random post-arrival test of two per cent will take place. Though the flights to India aren’t seeing any cancellations in the booking, nothing can be guaranteed yet. According to the local tour agents in Australia, the advisory can hardly impact the business.
