Bangalore Airport To Become India’s First Multi-Modal Transport Hub Like Zurich & Heathrow

Bangaloreans, you’d agree with me when I say that we often have a bitter-sweet relationship with our airport. Bitter — the neverending commute to and from the airport. Sweet — the majestic garden-themed terminal, swanky eateries and more. Here’s another reason to warm up to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) AKA Bangalore Airport as it’s soon going to be India’s first multi-modal transport hub like Zurich and Heathrow. How? Read on!

Bangalore Airport To Be Multi-Modal Transport Hub(MMTH)

According to a report by Moneycontrol, Bangalore airport will be the first airport in India with a Multi-Modal Transport Hub(MMTH). This means that passengers can expect seamless bus, metro and even cab connectivity to and from the airport. The MMTH hub shall integrate the metro station, and bus station, under one roof. While Chennai airport is known to be well-connected by both bus and metro, they aren’t integrated under one roof.
