When it comes to unique eco-friendly Ganesha idols for this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi,  you will definitely have Bangalore’s coconut Ganesha on your list. Puttengally Ganesha Temple in Bangalore has installed a massive 30 feet Ganesha idol made out of coconuts. Around 70 devotees have been tirelessly working on creating this eco-friendly Ganesha idol using 9000 coconuts.

Puttengally Ganesha Temple in Bangalore is well known for its breathtaking eco-friendly Ganesha installations. Last year they created a Ganesha idol using sugarcane. This year along with coconuts, about 20 varieties of vegetables have been used for decorating the temple. A devotee from the temple, Mohan quotes to a reputed news agency that apart from the massive Ganpati idol around one ton of Halwa will be prepared by the chefs for this festival. The coconuts used to adorn the idol will be removed after the festivities and distributed to the devotees along with the Halwa.
