A Southern Bangalore road, Jnana Bharthi Main Road connecting to the Dr BR Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) University, which was recently revamped before PM Narendra Modi arrived in the city, caved in after a moderate rain spell. The road, repaired using over ₹6 crores went back to the same condition in just 24 hours. Several Bangalore roads filled with potholes were fixed before PM Modi’s arrival in Bangalore and Mysuru.
Bangalore Roads Asphalted Using ₹23.5 Crore
Prior to PM Modi’s visit, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had taken the initiative to renovate several roads and areas in the city with big potholes. A whopping ₹23.5 Crore was used by the BBMP to do so. However, only after a day of its inauguration, the road went back to its previous state. Karnataka CM, Basavaraj Bommai has directed the commissioner to initiate a probe into the matter. This was an embarrassment not only to the city authorities but to the government as well.
The chief minister’s office made a tweet on their official account, announcing the probe.
Regarding caving in of newly asphalted road near BASE campus, CM @BSBommai has asked commissioner BBMP to enquire into the incident and take action against concerned officers.

UPDATE
The CM’s office also informed in their tweet that the leakage in a water line had devasted the roads once again.
Preliminary enquiry reveals that a new water line has been connected recently which has leaked and caused the damage.

PM Modi Took The Southern Banglore Road To Inaugurate University Campus
PM Modi recently, visited Bangalore and Mysuru to inaugurate a University campus, unveil a 22 ft BR Ambedkar statue and attend the Yoga Day celebrations. BBMP authorities had told that apart from asphalting roads and areas, broken drain slabs were also revamped. A lavish look was given to the roads through which PM Modi was scheduled to travel to different spots.
