Bangalore’s Beloved Vidyarthi Bhavan To Open Second Outlet After 79 Years

A Mecca for Masala Dosas, Vidyarthi Bhavan in Bangalore is on every foodie’s bucket list. Nestled in the bustling Gandhi Bazaar in Basavanagudi, Vidyarthi Bhavan has been serving crispy golden ghee dosas, strong filter coffee and crunchy rava vadas since 1943. Every Bangalorean knows the sheer joy of waiting patiently for their turn outside the humble eatery, sharing seats with strangers to gorge on the iconic dosas. It’s a shared community food experience. Here’s wonderful news for Vidyarthi Bhavan fans. The beloved Bangalore eatery will soon open a second outlet in Bangalore after 79 years. Here’s where.

Bangalore’s Vidyarthi Bhavan To Open Second Branch In Malleswaram

By the first week of May, folks from Malleswaram in Bangalore won’t have to travel all the way to the South of the city for Vidyarthi Bhavan dosas. Why? Well, the iconic eatery is all set to open a second outlet in Malleswaram. Managing Partner Vidyarthi Bhavan Arun Adiga revealed to New Indian Express that a new branch will be opened by the first week of May. While the eatery has only had one outlet for 79 years, it’s a delight for foodies to enjoy the old-world experience, signature Masala Dosas and filter coffee in Malleswaram itself, instead of driving all the way to Basavanagudi.

Internet Wonders This Will Pose Tough Competition For CTR & Veena Stores

While Bangaloreans have welcomed Vidyarthi Bhavan’s decision to open a second outlet, netizens wonder if this decision was taken to compete with iconic Malleswaram dosa eateries like CTR and Veena Stores. One commented that it’s high time CTR opens a new outlet in Gandhi Bazaar to take revenge on Vidyarthi Bhavan. Well, for dosa lovers, it’s a win-win situation.
