Bars And Pubs To Reopen In Delhi: Rules To Follow To Ensure Your Safety

After states like West Bengal, Goa, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu allowed bars to reopen, Delhi has also followed suit. Bars and pubs in restaurants, hotels as well as clubs are all set to open up in the national capital, beginning next week. But, they will only operate with 50% of seating capacity. This is in sync with the guidelines issued by the central government under Unlock 4. Read on to know more.

Delhi’s Pubs And Bars Will Reopen From September 9

According to an order released by Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), bars and pubs in the national capital will be open from 9th to 30th September. By now, they have remained shut for 5 months, owing to the coronavirus pandemic. An important thing to note is that these are only set to open in non-containment zones, and on a trial basis.

Rules And Guidelines For Those Visiting Delhi Bars And Pubs

DDMA has also released a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) order for all the bars in hotels/restaurants/clubs. Following are the key guidelines for those planning to visit bars in Delhi:

  • Wearing masks is mandatory for entry in the bars and pubs in the national capital.
  • In the view of maintaining social distancing norms, bars can operate with only 50% of seating capacity.
  • Spitting is strictly prohibited.
  • Staff/visitors to follow frequent sanitisation.
  • For now, only bars in non-containment zones will open up.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s lifeline is also going to resume its services too. The Delhi Metro will return to tracks from September 7. Tokens will not be issued to passengers. They must use smartcards, for contactless travel. Also, only selective stations will be functional. Commuters should also wear masks at all times, and occupy alternate seats.
