Live By The Beach In These Themed ‘Igloos’ This Winter

The holiday season brings with it festive cheer and also the chilly weather. And that makes it the perfect time to pack your bags and head out on an adventure. I mean, you don’t always have the weather on your side. So, when you do, it only makes sense to make the most of it. So, how about ditching your same old holiday destination for something a little more experimental? When I say experimental, I mean an igloo. But this is no ordinary igloo. So, let’s see what the fuss is all about.

Live In A Multisensory Igloo

Montauk and Newport in the USA have something new coming up by the beach. Gurney’s Resorts have come up with a new initiative and are erecting themed igloos next to the beach. The only catch is that the igloos aren’t made of ice (duh). But they are a delight to look at regardless. Each of the igloos is thematic and comes with warm blankets, fairy lights and activities to keep you engaged. There are 7 themed igloos in total at Gurney’s Montauk Resort and Seawater Spa and there’s something unique about each one of them. From an astrology and astronomy igloo to a Harry Potter themed one, you’ll be welcomed into each one by elements related to the theme. The astronomy igloo comes with tarot cards and a crystal ball to see your fortune.  And if you are a Potterhead, you’ll absolutely love the Harry Potter cabin which comes with potions, wands and more.

These igloos will be available for occupation from now to March and will be available 7 days a week. But guests will be required to reserve their igloos in advance to spend a weekend in them.
And while you are in the igloo experiencing something magical and the hunger pangs strike, all you need to do is ring a bell to alert the servers to attend to you.
On the other hand, there are igloos with the theme of Santa’s Workshop, Tropical Summer and Astrology at Gurney’s Newport Resort and Marina.

However, the best part about these igloos has to be the fact that they are all see-through to give you gorgeous viewing experience. At $25 per head, they are quite affordable and all the proceeds go to non-profit organizations like Make-a-wish and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. And while you are at it, check out these cool heated igloos that you can live in the North Pole.
