For the first time, five beaches in Dubai have received the Blue Flag accreditation for 2018-2019 and we can’t be happier!
What Is The Blue Flag?
Blue Flag is one of the world’s most recognised eco-labels for beaches, marinas and boats. The Blue Flag Program is a global initiative of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to promote environmental education, sustainable development of tourism, environmental management systems and ensure safety and access for beach users. The voluntary and internationally recognized label is given to more than 4000 beaches and marinas across 48 different countries.
And the good news is, Dubai beaches have now received Blue Flags! Yes, if you’ve been to the beach lately, you might have noticed a blue flag flying over. This is nothing but a reward, appreciating the cleanliness of the beach. However, you can spot this flag in only five beaches in Dubai.
Where Can You See The Blue Flags?
Beaches in Jumeirah 1, 2 and 3 and in Umm Suqeim 1 and 2, made it to the grade, and now have a prestigious Blue Flag swaying over. Don’t forget to drop by to soak in the pride! Beaches are checked for the seawater quality, environmental education and management, and public safety.
So what are you waiting for? Head to the beach for a swim in the sparkling clean waters!
