Bengaluru: Man Asked To Pay More For Swiggy Delivery Because Of “Wrong Address”; Calls It Scam

Online food delivery platforms are of great help to all the customers out there. Without facing the inconveniences of getting ready and going out, we can simply order our favourite dishes just by tapping on the mobile screens and get them delivered in just some time. Unfortunately, ordering online often comes with bittersweet experiences these days. Recently, we just came across an incident where a Swiggy delivery guy tried to scam a customer. Here’s what happened next.

Sambhav shared the entire incident on Reddit mentioning how he placed an order on Swiggy some days ago. While he was waiting to receive the order, he found that the delivery person’s location did not change. In fact, his location stated that he was standing near the restaurant. When the customer called the Swiggy delivery guy, he said that he reached the delivery address and could not find him to give the order. He even asked to share the current location over WhatsApp.

The incident began taking a doubtful turn when the Swiggy delivery man said that the shared location and the Swiggy app destination were not matching. Not only did the guy blame Sambhav for not putting the right address but also blamed the app later on. The delivery guy later also mentioned how he was over 4 km away from the location shared on WhatsApp. He asked for additional money to cross that distance and deliver the order as Swiggy does not reimburse for extra distance.

Sambhav soon contacted customer service and they realised that it was a scam. The executive later spoke with the delivery person and cancelled Sambhav’s order. As an apology, he also offered a refund along with a coupon. The customer executive also mentioned reporting the Swiggy delivery guy.
