Mumbai – one city, multiple cultures. With different cultures comes delectable cuisine. However, nailing these local delicacies can be tough. And these places are serving the best Chole Bhature in Mumbai. Full Dilli-wali feels!

1. Chole Bhature At Chawla’s, Sion

Some small and some hole in the wall Punjabi eateries line up the by lanes of Sion-Koliwada, giving it all the mini Punjab feels. Here, food is all that matters and ambience can take a back seat. One such eatery is ‘Chawla’s Dhaba’. Owned by Gurjeet Singh, this pure-veg (yes, Punjabis can make delicious veg food too!) dhaba serves the best Chole Bhature that you can find in the city. Amritsari spiced chole with piping hot, fluffy, bhatura served with pickles, coriander chutney, and onions, add to that a big glass of lassi – a typical dhaba meal in a typical dhaba. To top it all, they make the bhatures and rotis right in front of you in their big tandoor. All that it needs to qualify as a roadside dhaba of Punjab is a highway. That’s how authentic it is! Few tables, a live kitchen, dim lights and possibly a newspaper to soak up all that oil – Chawla’s in Sion checks all the boxes.
