The frozen structure was formed when an underground spring spouting water froze instantly due to the harsh cold weather. The quick freezing of the water gave it an ice volcano sort of look. Ice Volcano Forms In Kazakhstan Due To Underground Spring

Thousands of eager visitors ave already flocked Almaty in Kazakhstan to catch a glimpse of this magnificent naturally formed ice volcano. This ice volcano was formed due to an underground spring. The underground spring is situated in Almaty between the village of Kegan and Shrganak. The frozen structure is 45-feet tall. For Kazakhstan, this isn’t the first ice volcano the locals witnessed in winter. A small volcano had also formed last year. But this latest one spanning 45-feet in height is more defined than the first one. It also continuously sprays water particles from the top opening, just like an actual volcano.

Pictures Of Ice Structure Resembling A Volcano Is Going Viral On Social Media

According to Times Now, a local stated “In general, this is artesian water that gushes out of the ground. In summer everything blooms here with greenery. And with the arrival of winter, on the eve of the New Year, it [the iceberg] increases to 14 meters and creates a beautiful location for great shots. It happened that my friends and I came to the ‘iceberg’ to celebrate the New Year. ” The volcano-like resemblance of this ice structure is one of the main reasons why locals in Kazakhstan have been visiting this place and flooding social media with stunning photos.
