Chandigarh Will Soon Get North India’s First Dog Park

Whether its feeding Parle-G to the neighbourhood dogs or coming back home to the furry pet wagging its tail in excitement, dogs have our hearts. In a moment they can just turn around our day with their cute faces and cuter antics. And we just can’t have enough of our furry companions. So we have a piece of great news for dog lovers around! Chandigarh will soon have North India’s first dog park. This will be an exclusive space where pet parents can get their canine companions, spend time with them and even adopt another one.

What’s In It?

The move of setting up North India’s first dog park came after an idea was floated by VP Singh Badnore, the governor of Punjab and the administrator of Chandigarh. He had requested the civic body authority to explore this idea a few days ago. Badnore approached municipal commissioner KK Yadav and told him to work on a dog park in Chandigarh. It’s interesting to note that North India has its own luxury pet abode, Critterati in Gurugram.

The project is stated to come up in the southern part of the city as per the Chandigarh municipal corporation. However, the exact location and area for this project is not yet officially finalized. But according to sources of a reputed news agency, an area in Sector 43 in Chandigarh is being assessed. Reports suggest that Mumbai and Hyderabad have such types of dog parks.

What’s More?

Municipal commissioner KK Yadav held a meeting with senior officials of the Municipal corporation to discuss matters regarding the Chandigarh dog park. The exact location for the dog park is not finalized but an approximate area of 1.5 acres in Sector 43 in Chandigarh is being evaluated and shortlisted for the same. A senior official of the municipal corporation stated the as per their discussions, only vaccinated pet dogs of Chandigarh will be allowed to enter the dog park after submitting records of vaccination. He further revealed that the dog park will provide all kinds of facilities like vaccination,  and behaviour change activities. Moreover, people can enjoy facilties like dog adoption. Well, I’m sure all dog lovers are already counting the days for the establishment of this dog park in Chandigarh. It’s recreation and pet love at its best.
