Transit passengers at Chennai airport can now enjoy a short nap during their layover. The director of Chennai airport, Dr Sharad Kumar has introduced cosy and holistic sleeping pods inside the airport for the benefit of the passengers. The facility is known as ‘Sleepzo’ and has come up in the domestic terminal arrivals section, close to baggage belt number 1. Passengers can rent a pod on an hourly basis. The Sleeping Pods At Chennai Airport Are Equipped With Comfy Beds, Chargers, Reading Lights And More
The new-age pods at the Chennai airport are equipped with comfy beds, USB chargers, charging stations, luggage spaces, mirrors, reading lights and blower capsules. Every capsule has the capacity to accommodate one adult and a child under 12 years. When passengers need to change flights, they often need to wait for long hours at the airport. Stepping out of the airport and entering a hotel might not be very convenient always. On top of that, hotel rooms are costly. The pods will help the passengers utilise their layover time in taking the needed rest before they proceed for the rest of their journeys.

Chennai airport has taken to its Instagram handle ‘aaichennaiofficial’ to share pictures of the sleeping pods. In a carousel post, the airport has shared a photo of the inauguration of the pods, followed by pictures of the capsules. Even if you do not feel like sleeping, you can enjoy some relaxing time under the quilt inside these capsules or peacefully indulge in activities like watching movies, completing office work and much more.
