The Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MG Ramachandran Central Railway station, more commonly known as the Chennai Central has recently lost the chance to be named the railway station with the longest name in the World. And that is not what makes us sad. The disheartening fact is that Chennai Central lost by just one letter! That’s right, it was just one letter short to becoming the World’s Longest Railway Station Name.

What Is It?

Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MG Ramachandran Central Railway station having 57 letters lost the chance of having the longest railway station name in the World. The title was won by Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch Railway Station in Wales, with 58 characters.

Although it IS the longest Railway Station name in the country. It was renamed on April 5th, 2019, after the legendary actor and politician of Tamil Nadu.
