Fire Breaks Out At Chennai’s Nexus Vijaya Mall
According to reports, the fire started at the McDonald’s outlet inside Nexus Vijaya Mall. This mall was earlier known as Forum Mall and is located in Vadapalani, near the Virugambakkam area of Chennai. As per One India, thick smoke began coming out from the McDonald’s outlet, alarming shoppers and staff inside the building. As soon as people noticed the smoke coming out of the outlet, many rushed to exit the mall to ensure their safety.
To ensure everyone’s safety, mall staff responded without delay. They used fire extinguishers to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the mall. Their quick action helped reduce the risk and kept the situation from getting worse.

Rescue Team Reached Fire Spot
Soon, fire and rescue teams reached the spot to handle the situation. According to One India, they worked quickly to douse the flames and secure the area. Officials also confirmed that authorities had already evacuated the mall as a safety measure. Authorities stated that no injuries have been reported so far. Everyone inside the mall was safely evacuated, which helped prevent any casualties. Emergency teams continued to monitor the area to ensure the fire remained fully under control.
So far, officials have not revealed the exact cause of the fire. They have also not shared details about the extent of the damage inside the McDonald’s outlet or other parts of the mall. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and further details are awaited.
