A Little About This Legend

One of the well-known artists of all time, Vincent van Gogh, was born in Groot-Zundert, Netherlands. Even though Van Gogh’s cut-off ear and sunflowers have become iconic, he was largely unknown and thought of himself as a failure during his lifetime.

Van Gogh is a household name, and his artwork is valued at hundreds of millions of dollars now. Van Gogh was extraordinarily prolific. He only worked for ten years, from the age of 27 to his untimely death at the age of 37.

He created around 900 paintings in addition to several additional drawings and sketches, translating to almost one new piece of art every 36 hours. Van Gogh, an obscure and underprivileged artist, painted himself since he lacked the funds to hire models.
