These 6 Countries Are Reopening For Indian Tourists

Desi travellers! If your feet are itching to travel out of India, hit the blue beaches, trek up the imposing hills, explore ancient monuments and gorge on exotic food, then what’s stopping you? While there are many countries yet to reopen borders amid the Omicron strain, there are many others that are ready to welcome your wanderlust soul open whole heartedly, with safety ofcourse. So, here are 6 countries that are reopening for tourism for Indians now.

1. The Philippines

The Philippines is all set to welcome tourists from 157 countries across the world from February 10 onwards. The Southeast Asian nation planned to reopen borders in December but the decisio was delayed due to the rise in Covid-19 cases. Presidential Spokesperson Karlo Nograles revealed to reporters that fully vaccinated foreign nationals can enter the Philippines for tourism and business purposes as they as they arrive from nations belonging to the list under Executive Order 408 or non-visa required countries. The country has also lifted mandatory quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated foriegn visitors and Filipinos as long as they test Covid negative.

2. Bali

India’s favourite holiday destination Bali will soon start welcoming back tourists. While Bali officially only opened for visitors from Japan, China, New Zealand and several other contries in mid October, there haven’t been sufficient direct flights for the same. Bali known for its lush green paddy fields, stunning beaches and ancient structures, has been a much-loved destination among Indians. While this is good news, this decision comes amid a stewady rise in Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, so do take a well-informed decision to travel.

3. The United Kingdom

The United Kingdom has eased travel restrictions whereby testing requirements will be fully removed for all eligible fully vaccinated travellers after the success of vaccination and booster programmes. The new rules will apparently come into effect only from February 11 onwards. Moreover, the United Kingdom will also permit travellers who haven’t been vaccinated yet but they must undergo a pre-departure test and PCR test on or before the second day after landing in England. Do keep in midn that you must fill in a Passenger Locator Form.

4. Singapore

Folks planning a trip to Singapore, can visit the country now thanks to the ease in travel restrictons. Accoriding to the latest travel guidelines mandatory Covid tests and testing has been scrapped for vaccinated passengers. Moreover, vaccinated tourists in Singapore don’t need tp undergo testing. Incase vaccinated travellers have mild symptoms, they isolate for 7 days inetad of the earlier 10 days while children can recover at home.

5. Thailand

If you’ve been waiting to visit the stunning beach and adventure paradise of Thailand, then here’s your chance. The nation will soon offer a quarantine waiver for vaccinated travellers and also relax more rules for tourists, including offering quarantine-free travel from February 1. To travel to Thailand, international tourists must apply for the ‘Test & Go’ entry program from February 1 onwards. But there’s a catch, you must be ready to undergo not one, but two Covid tests on arrival in Thailand.

6. Vietnam

Travel enthusiasts, with Vietnam on your bucket list, it’s about time, your prayers finally get fulfilled. And that’s exactly what has happened. Vietnam has reopened for international tourists from January 1. But they must show proof of being fully vaccinated or having recovered from the coornavirus. Travellers must take Covid-19 tests before flying to Vietnam and then undergo a three-day period of quarantine at hotels and once again take a PCR test. If you test negative, you must continue to monitor your health for another two weeks.

So, these are some of the nations that are open for tourism for Indians. Travel safely and make sure you follow all travel guidelines.
