Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammad bin Salman has launched the urban plan for Qiddiya. Revealed on December 7, the plan is to make this city the leading global destination for entertainment, sports, and culture. With an ambitious plan to house over 600,000 residents in 60,000 buildings, it will be spread across 360 square kilometres.
2. Sharjah Film Platform To Celebrate Themes Of Resistance & Solidarity
Sharjah Film Platform is back for its sixth edition and it will go on till December 17. In case you’re wondering the screenings will be happening at the Mirage City Cinema, Sharjah Institute of Theatrical Arts, and VOX Cinemas (City Centre Al Zahia). As it happens, the theme this year is solidarity and resistance.

Saudia has launched a deal wherein you can fly to Bahrain with tickets prices starting at SAR613. However, this offer is available on flights from Riyadh and Jeddah, with the travel period being before December 31, 2023. It should be noted that the offer applies on both one-way and round-trip flights, but it’s not available on the dates December 13 – 14, 2023.
4. Emirates Launches Premium Economy Between São Paulo & Dubai

Recently, Emirates took to its account to announce that it has now launched Premium Economy services on its route between São Paulo and Dubai. So, starting from December 11, on daily flights between the two destinations, the retrofitted four-class A380 aircraft will be flying. Moreover, this was revealed at the launch of Emirates Premium Economy in São Paulo through an exclusive tour of the A380 aircraft.
5. Partial Closure Of Al Mina Street In Sharjah
The Authority notes implementing a partial closure of Al Mina Street, in implementation of the third phase of the Al Layya Water Canal Development Project, and the road and bridge works accompanying the project.

The Sharjah RTA recently announced that there will be a partial closure of Al Mina Street. This is being done for the implementation of the third phase of the Al Layya Water Canal Development Project. As a result, there will be road and bridge works that will be accompanying the project from December 11 to December 30, 2023.

Dubai Fitness Championship, the Emirates Dubai Grand Prix Sailing Championship (Sail Gp), the Gulf Classic Cars Championship, International Boxing Championship, Sir Winston Churchill Cup, and Euro Dragon Boat Cup will be taking place in Dubai over the weekend. This means that 25 Sports events, out of which seven are international events will be happening in the Emirate.

Saudi Arabia Ministry of Culture recently took to its official account on X to share glimpses of the Saudi Pavillion from the ongoing Artigiano in Fiera. It was also shared that visitors are seen enjoying and partaking in the creation of a work of art. Yes, through and interactive and collaborative Sadu weaving experience, people can be seen getting a tiny glimpse of the Saudi culture.
9. Dubai Shopping Festival Commences
The Dubai Shopping Festival has begun and it will be taking place till Jaunary 14th. This is the 29th edition and it will feature everything from lights, drone shows to exciting offers at participating brands. Not to mention, there are several events also taking palace throughout the period, like Sole DXB, that are part of this much-awaited shopping fiesta.
