1. Dubai Metro & Tram To Run For 40 Hours on New Years

Dubai RTA has revealed that it will be running its two major transport, the Dubai metro and tram, for non-stop for 40 hours in Dubai. Yes, the timings include –

Dubai Metro – 8 AM (December 31) to January 1 (till the end)
Dubai Tram – 9 AM (December 31) to 1 AM (January 2)

Not to mention, the Dubai RTA also plans to add a fleet of 230 buses, and this will be made available to the public free of charge.

2. UAE SWAT Challenge to Return In February 2024

It was recently announced that after the massive success of its previous edition, this challenge is making a return. Yes, it will be taking place from February 3 to 7, 2024. It will be hosted by the Dubai Police and the international competition will be promoting cooperation across special weapons and tactics (SWAT) teams.

3. Indian PM Narendra Modi Accepts Invitation To Inaugurate BAPS Hindu Mandir

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has accepted the invitation by Swami Ishwarcharandas and Swami Ishwarcharandas for the inauguration of the BAPS Hindu Mandir, which is coming up in Abu Dhabi. This will be taking place on February 14, 2024. At this point, it’s worth noting that the temple coming up in the UAE is currently under construction.

4. Dubai RTA Announces Free Parking On January 1, 2024

Celebrating the New Year’s holiday, it was announced that free parking will be available to the people in Dubai. However, this free parking does not include the multilevel parking. Not to mention, the parking charges will resume from January 2, 2024, Tuesday.

5. Hatta Trail Run Is Taking Place On December 30

Hatta Trail Run is happening on December 30 and if you haven’t already registered, make sure to do it now. Extending across categories, you can participate either in 3 km, 5 km, or 10 km races. As such, this marathon is perfect for people who belong to the social or advanced runners categories.

6. Saudi Post & Oman Post Release A Joint Stamp

In a recent post by Saudi Post, it was revealed that along with Oman Post, they have issued a joint stamp. This is a commemorative stamp that marks the inauguration of the new road, connecting the two nations. Additionally, it also highlights their strong bilateral relations, thereby, containing picture of the Saudi King Salman and Oman Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.

7. Children From Sanad CSA Visit Riyadh Zoo

Recently, Riyadh Season welcomed young children from the Sanad Children Cancer Support Association. As they visited the Riyadh Zoo, which is one of the entertainment zones, they got to interact with several pets and rare animals. These little children had a fun time taking a tour of the zoo and also watched shows that featured animals.

8. Falcons Cup 2023 Begins In AlUla

The Falcons Cup 2023 began in AlUla on Thursday, December 28. This year, the prize pool is SAR60 million, which is up for grabs. A collaboration between the Saudi Falcons Club and the Royal Commission for AlUla, the competition will be happening till January 5. With the award being the largest in its history of competitions, this year the event is being held at the Mughira Heritage Sports Village.

9. NCM Issues Guidelines For Driving Safely In Fog

It’s no secret that some parts of the UAE are experiencing dense fog in the morning. Keeping this in mind, the NCM has issued guidelines for staying safe. They have asked people to keep a safe distance between the vehicles and to not turn their hazard lights on. Not to mention, they have been asked to keep up the posted speed limit and stay in the lane. Finally, people have been urged to keep up with the NCM reports and to avoid spreading rumours.

10. Third Edition Of Hajj & Umrah Conference & Exhibition To Happen In 2024

It was recently mentioned that the third edition of the Hajj & Umrah Conference & Exhibition will be happening in Jeddah. It will be taking place at the Jeddah Superdome and will be held under the patronage of the custodian of the two holy mosques. This is a significant event, which is scheduled to take place on January 8 and will go on till January 11, 2024. As it happens, registrations are already open on the website.
