Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport issued this passenger advisory stating that there will be traffic diversion in effect due to the farmers’ protest on Tuesday at several Delhi borders. The diversions and restrictions for commercial vehicles started on February 12, a day before the march. The airport authorities recommended flyers plan their trips accordingly and also stay well informed about any potential delays or alternative routes.
Ensuring timely arrival is the topmost priority for passengers about to catch flights. To focus on reaching the airport on time, the passenger advisory encouraged everyone to utilise the Magenta Line to enter Terminal 1. And for passengers travelling to Terminal 3, Delhi airport authorities asked to use the airport metro as it is a convenient transportation option.
Delhi Police imposed a section 144 at Delhi-UP borders after the farmer associations of different states planned the protest. Different sides of the Delhi border connecting nearby states have been sealed as well. Police are stationed at the borders as a part of security arrangements before the march begins.
