On the 17th of March, Friday, the authorities of the Indira Gandhi International Airport or IGIA received a threat. It said that one of the flights had a bomb planted in it. The flight in question is by an airline called Aeroflot. The threat said that there was a bomb in a can of the soft drink coca-cola.

The threat further specified that the bomb is set to detonate mid-flight. The authorities have not taken the threat lightly and investigations are currently underway. The flight number is SU232. The authorities received the bomb threat via a feedback website of the Delhi International Airport Limited or DIAL. This is run by the Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao (GMR) group.

Nothing much is known about the threat yet and since operations are still underway, we don’t know if the threat was real or fake. As of now, nothing is known about the person who sent the bomb threat as well.

Police Has Registered An FIR

Based on the gravity of the situation, the Delhi police have cooperated with the airport authorities and have filed an FIR under sections 182, 341, 505 (1)b, and 507 of the Indian Penal Code or the IPC. This FIR was filed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport Police Station.

In the past, there have been many instances where airports have received fake threats and tips about bombs on aeroplanes. However, it is not wise to ignore any such threat regardless of how many times in the past these threats have been empty.

Especially since so many lives of innocent people are at stake, it is always better to check and be sure that nothing dangerous is afoot.
