At Delhi Airport, seven persons were reportedly detained for allegedly taking valuables from travellers’ bags. Police said they also recovered many things, including pricey watches. Police have started a thorough investigation into this theft; here are the details.
Delhi Airport: Valuables Stolen And 7 Accused Identified!
According to the police, Manoj Kumar, Hari Darshan, Balwinder, Praveen Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Subodh, and Satish Kumar Verma have been named as the accused. They were found to have gold jewellery, the money of five different nations, two Apple AirPods, a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, and two pricey timepieces, a Rado and a De Grisogono. Paramjeet Kaur, a resident of Punjab, filed a complaint at the IGI Airport police station that led to the creation of the case.
A senior police official reported that Paramjeet Kaur claimed she arrived in Delhi from Melbourne on September 16 and planned to connect to an aircraft to Amritsar. When her luggage was discovered to be overweight before she boarded her flight to Amritsar, she unzipped her bags and made the necessary adjustments. She discovered the gold goods in her suitcases were gone when she got home.
The police investigated and questioned the loaders working that shift while reviewing CCTV footage. One of the accused, Manoj Kumar, discovered a video that Hari Darshan had sent him on his phone in which he claimed that the jewellery was phoney and that no one would pay anything for it.

This led to the accused admitting that they had stolen the gold jewels and had sold them to jewellers. They also acknowledged taking several goods from other travellers’ bags. They alleged that employees of other airlines assisted them in stealing the items. Five more people were then detained by the police in this connection, the officer claimed.
Senior Officials Conspired With The Accused
The police have discovered that the airlines are not adhering to letters from the Delhi Police and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security’s quarterly recommendations. Investigations found that some senior airline employees conspired with the accused, and their activities are also being scrutinised. According to the authorities, airline representatives are also being questioned.
According to the authorities, the suspects persuaded the airline’s security guard to give them plenty of room while they loaded and unloaded luggage from the plane. They claimed that they employed the duty officer, whose responsibility it was to give tasks to the loaders, to deploy the defendants just in the holding area.

A thorough inquiry is being conducted to determine their full level of involvement. As a result, no airline employees have been detained thus far, according to the authorities.
