What Is Air India’s ‘Easy Connect’ Service In Varanasi & How Does It Makes International Travel Easier?

International travel can be tiring, especially for passengers flying from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Long queues, baggage hassles, and immigration procedures often add to the pressure. Now, to make the journey easier, Air India has came up with a new service called ‘Easy Connect’. Here’s how it works.

Air India Introduces Easy Connect Service

Air India has introduced a new service called ‘Easy Connect’ under the Government of India’s new hub-and-spoke aviation model. This service is planned to start from June 25. It is India’s first city to join this new travel framework.

This initiative has been launched to help Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities enjoy improved travel experience. How this new service works? As per NDTV, under the Easy Connect model, passengers can complete baggage check-in and immigration formalities at their departure airport before flying to Delhi for their international journey.

How Can Travellers Fly Internationally From Varanasi With Less Hassle?

The best part? You can check in for your entire journey right from Varanasi and get your boarding passes all the way to your final international destination. Even better, your baggage will travel on its own to the next flight, so there’s no need to collect and re-check your luggage in Delhi.

That’s not all. NDTV reported that instead of standing in long immigration queues at Delhi airport, travellers can complete the process in Varanasi itself. This means less waiting, fewer airport hassles, and a much smoother journey from the very beginning.

The scheduled Easy Connect flight between Varanasi and Delhi is AI1111 and it will operate daily. With this service, travellers can easily connect to 17 international destinations, London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Milan, Rome, Zurich, Manila, Singapore, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Riyadh and Dubai. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu calls it “A significant step towards making India a global aviation hub.”
