Di Ghent Cafe In Gurgaon Gives ₹50 Note Back To Customers Against Bill & Here’s Why!

After enjoying a hearty meal in a lavish eatery, we often pay a tip amount to the waiter along with the bill. But have you ever come across a food hub that gives ₹50 back along with each bill? Sounds surprising, right? We too were taken aback at this cafe in Gurgaon when a fresh ₹50 note secured in an envelope came to our table along with the bill. Di Ghent is a cosy vintage-themed book cafe nestled in Gurgaon’s Crosspoint Mall that gives ₹50 back to the customers against every bill. Wondering why? The guys are on a mission to kickstart the ‘Giving Circle’. Believing in the goodwill of their customers, they expect them to donate the money for a cause or to another charity.

Books, Coffee, Happy Vibes And More!

Di Ghent Cafe in Gurgaon has an aesthetic vibe with brick-themed walls, hanging lamps, comfy sofas, indoor plants, chic bookshelves and more. You can have a chilled out time here with your friends over comforting coffee and European delights like bruschetta, risotto, pasta, ravioli, sourdoughs and bagels. One can also have a solo time at this cafe with a good book and gourmet food. I and my colleague visited the cafe on a Sunday evening and we ordered two cups of Cappucino and a plate of Termont Bruschetta. While we were already loving its aesthetic ambience, and the food made us fall for the place more.

A Token Of Compassion

We had a laidback time in the cafe. When it was finally time for us to leave, we were puzzled to find a ₹50 in the bill holder. Then the guys clarified their initiative to us and we were touched by the cause. They are running an initiative known as #Mission44Million The Giving Circle. The envelope holding the note read, “Sewa or selfless service is a significant aspect of humanity. At the core of Di Ghent brand lays a strong belief of giving back to our community for we have and continue to appreciate all the love and support for you.”

It further read, “#Mission44Million came to be with a purpose fuelled with compassion to reach further into the community and provide aid to families grappling with basic needs. What started as a milk drive every week has now taken a larger form with dry rations, fruits and vegetables added to the distribution drives in the surrounding villages of Delhi and Gurgaon. ” With this mission, the eatery aims to feed more than 44 million happy souls. Customers can donate the money in the jars at the front door entrance for Mission44Million or alternatively, they can donate to another cause or charity.

Through this heartwarming initiative, the cafe aims to spread the greatest deed of mankind, humanity. They could have directly donated the money against every bill without passing it on to the customers. But by offering the note, they are prioritising faith to carry forward the noble initiative. In this way, the guys are instilling the feeling of compassion on a bigger scale. A rare and beautiful gesture, isn’t so?
