Qutub Minar in Delhi is a city spot for an introduction to Delhi. The visits begin with sunrise when people first meet the city. They meet the architecture, the local vendors, public busses and Mehrauli. Delhi’s ultra-rich dine right next to Qutub Minar. The elite might not buy a ticket to visit the beauty, but they weren’t going to let the view go to waste. An army of bars, cafés and finer dining line Mehrauli but only 5 made it high enough to sit next to the first rulers of the Delhi Sultanate.
1. Dramz Whiskey Bar & Lounge
The valet takes your car and the doorman greets you with enthusiasm as soon as you enter. You walk into a dazzling courtyard, trying to match the night light of Qutub Minar. You walk up to the terrace and all you can see is a giant overarching minaret, ablaze in deep blue sky. All this place needs is a bit of newness. Nothing on the table can ever match up to the beautiful view, and the view is worth the visit.
2. Thai High
A romantic night out with bae is not romantic enough until Qutub Minar has kissed your evening. Its yellow flame will add fuel to your fire. The view is dreamy from up there. The restaurant is a little away from all the others, giving it an edge over the skyline. On one side, they have a dome protecting an old fort and old habits. On the other side, Qutub Minar shines bright. The food is a bit expensive for the vibe but it’s surely one of a kind.

3. Qla
Did someone say romantic? A square courtyard surrounded by designer boutiques, greenery and the opulence of Qla’s indoor seating sits humbly under the glimmering night sky. We’d sit humbly too if the upstairs neighbour was hosting Qutub Minar. Music concerts are a magical experience with history’s torch taking charge of ambience. You can book Qla rooftop for private events too. Their duck salad is the best in town. We love a place that gets the basics right and this family place sure does a mean pasta.
4. Lavaash by Saby
Delhi’s favourite Armenian place has the best bar, the best coconut ice cream and the best view. Their rooftop is reserved for exclusive experiences. The outdoor seating is cozy and cute, but most people don’t know their rooftop is the real deal. Imagine dining at one of the most luxurious tables, garnished with a royal view. Try their mouthwatering cocktails and Prawn Claypot Casserole!

5. Rooh
This Qutub-facing restaurant is here to stay. Modern Indian cuisine has gone viral all over town and Rooh’s chef adds stunning looks to the food. Go for the basics like Dal Makhani and Ras Malai or go all out with the chef’s tasting menu. Nothing will disappoint with the majestic pillar outside the balcony. The copper ceilings can’t contain this newbie’s sheen. Rooh has already won the hearts of San Francisco, we’re glad we’re next.
