Dubai is facing unprecedented flooding after thunderstorms swept across the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday. The desert region received over a year and a half’s worth of rainfall in just a few hours. From operations at Dubai International Airport coming to a halt to highways getting disrupted, many photos and videos of the floods have taken over the Internet. Singer Rahul Vaidya also took to his Instagram account to share snaps and videos of the situation.

On April 17, Wednesday, Rahul Vaidya took off to Kolkata on an early morning flight. However, before leaving, the singer shared a few videos on Instagram to show the havoc the heavy rains created in the UAE city. “It’s almost dark at 2:58 pm,” wrote the singer on his Instagram story. The video showed heavy rains pouring and a dark gloomy sky in Dubai in the afternoon.

Later, Rahul Vaidya shared a glimpse of the serpentine queue for taxis at Dubai Mall. “Yeh ek baarish ne… waha take line hai. Welcome to Dubai,” voiced the actor in his video. In another video, you can see roads covered with ankle-deep water. Luxurious vehicles are submerged. Rahul is seen wading through the ankle-deep water with his jeans folded, shoes in his hand and carefully trudging his way in the floods.

Later, the singer shared a selfie with a man and thanked him profusely for bailing him out and helping him reach the airport safely amidst the floods. “Yeh dekho guys, do ghante ki baarish hui hai aur yeh halat hai,” said the singer sharing a shocking video of waterlogged roads. In another Insta story, the singer showed how 95 per cent of the flights were cancelled at Dubai Airport. Fortunately, Rahul’s flight took off and he could reach Kolkata in time for his show.
