Air travel will likely get costlier as the prices of Air Turbine Fuel, also known as jet fuel soar significantly. The price of Jet fuel has soared from ₹4,481.63 per kilolitre to to ₹90,519.79 per kl or 5.2% in Delhi. In fact, it was increased by about 30% within six months. The same was priced at ₹50,979 in January 2021. Ticket prices are dependent on ATF and other unavoidable charges. As jet fuel prices increase in several states and union territories, we can expect a hike in domestic airfares.
Jet fuel price soared to ₹88,987.20 per kl in Mumbai and ₹94,888.70 per kl in Kolkata respectively. Despite the steep rise in crude oil prices, petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged.
