Dubai Announces New Rules For Travellers From India; Reduces Validity Of PCR Tests

India is facing the worst crisis amid a surge in the covid cases. The country has been recording nearly 2.5 lakh cases daily. It is not only impacting the economy severely- but is also affecting the travel and tourism sector of the country. Countries like UK, Hong Kong, Pakistan and New Zealand have banned Indian travellers from entering the country. And now, Dubai too has tightened the travel rules for Indians. Here’s everything you must know about it.

Reports Will Be Excepted Only In The Printed Format With A QR Code On It For Verification

Patrons travelling from India to Dubai will now have to show a negative covid report from the test taken within 48 hours of departure from April 22. The time limit, which initially was 72 hours, has now been reduced to 48 hours. The reports should compulsorily have a QR code that airlines can use for verification. The same will be verified by Dubai Dubai health authorities on arrival.

Time Of Sample Collection On Report Again A Must

Air India Express also tweeted that the test certificate should also have the time of sample collection as per the new rules. The airlines are now communicating to the passengers the same.

Apart from reducing the time, the authorities have also informed the passengers that reports should be submitted in the printed form only. And reports from only government-approved labs in India(ICMR/ Pure Health/Micro Health accredited laboratories will be approved. The advisory also states that all the information should be typed in block letters- so it’s clear and easily understood.

In terms of travel from India to Dubai, Delhi-Dubai and Mumbai-Dubai have been among the busiest route in the world during the pandemic. However, with new updates, surging cases in India, travelling to Dubai will slightly become difficult.
